It's been a whole long while since I have posted here. Things have been busy to say the least. Allen is doing well in school and he recently got 2 awards for his behavior and learning abilities: Panther of the week and Good Behavior for the Month of November. We are so proud of him. Reagan is now 1. I can't hardly believe it. I made her birthday cake in the shape of a butterfly and she dug right in to it. She especially liked picking the candy off the top of it. We headed straight for the bathtub after that craziness.
I am almost ready for Christmas. Just one more present to buy and then lots of wrapping to do. Not sure when I am going to get around to that.......but it'll get done. I am looking forward to the kids enjoying Christmas this year. I just love to see their smiles.
Merry Christmas everyone!

2 Weeks Down
Well, as of today Allen has 2 weeks of kindergarden under his belt. He LOVES every minute of it. However, he is quite the tired little bear by the time he gets home at night. In some respects it's been nice having both kids in bed by 8 pm.
Allen says his favorite part of school is when he gets to go to the library to pick out a book. That totally suprises me......aren't most kids most excited about recess? :) Maybe I will have a bookwork (keeping my fingers crossed).
His first 2 weeks of school have been pretty uneventful.....well, except for his first day of riding the bus. I took him to school and picked him up on the first day. So, day #2 he got on the bus at our house in the morning, no issues there. BUT his ride home wasn't as smooth. He is to get off the bus at his daycare in the evenings. So, the bus driver pulls up in her driveway, opens the door, shuts the door, and pulls off.......no kid gets off the bus. Tina frantically started calling me and Greg. For about a half an hour we had no idea where our 5 year old little boy was. It turns out the school called the bus driver while he was still in route and the bus driver found Allen still in a seat on the bus. The driver says he fell asleep, but Allen still denies that. Ends up the bus took Allen back to the school and the Superintendent & the Principal delivered him to daycare. I was soooooooo angry. I mean HELLO, the bus driver pulls up, doesn't let a kid out, and pulls off.......what is clue #1??????? All I can say is that better not happen again or they may have a mean mamma on their hands :)
Reagan is doing great......nearing 10 months old now. She can stand in place without holding on to anything for a few seconds. She is so determined. I think her and Allen are night and day different, but others disagree.
Well.........ta ta til next time.

Sick Kids
I haven't posted here in quite a while. We have been dealing with sick kids for almost 2 weeks now. Allen had the stomach flu.....luckily that only lasted about 24 hours. BUT little Miss. Reagan has been a mess. She has run a low fever, broke out in a rash, runny nose, cough, teething, and an ear infection. Whew, I am wore out just typing all that junk.....can't imagine how horribly she has been feeling. She has been on antibiotic for about 2 days now, so hopefully we will start seeing some improvement.
We are gearing up for Allen's first day of Kindergarten (Aug. 18). He is soooo super excited, but Mom is having a really hard time dealing with her "baby" going to school. Last night I was organizing his school supplies and I was putting his name on everything (Greg said I was crazy for doing that), but I don't think so. Allen is going to an open house at school tonight to meet his teacher again and get familiar with the classroom.
Not much else going on......................

The Most Perfect Baby Girl............
Of course I am referring to Reagan :) She won the top prize at the baby contest at the Prairie Home fair yesterday. I don't believe Greg and I were able to wipe the smiles off of our face the whole day. Of course we think she is gorgous, but it is a great feeling for a group of judges to think the same. The contest was in the morning and the winners had to come back that evening for them to announce it to the crowd. Well, when they announced Reagan we stepped forward with her and the crowd began clapping. When she heard the clapping she started waving and carrying on.....it was so cute and she loved every minute of it.
Allen was pretty proud of his sister also. He really is such a good kid.

Fourth of July
See, I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with this blog. Here I am almost a month later posting.
Well, we made it through the busy 4th of July weekend. Friday we did yard work ALLLLLL day. That evening we went to Lynn and Jim's house for a party. Satruday we had Greg's family over for a BBQ to celebrate his dad's birthday. Then, on Sunday, we went to my mom and dad's house to celebrate an early birthday for me. Whew, so, I came back to work to relax.....HA!
Reagan is almost to the "real" crawling stage. She gets up on all fours, rocks a little, then falls face first. She's so close. She can get to where she is going at this point, but it's via rolling and scooting. I think she will be a much happier baby when she learns to actually crawl.

Back from vacation
Well, our vacation to Hot Springs, AR was great. The only complaint I have is the actual drive....Reagan hates being confined to her car seat and Allen gets car sick. I wish I could have been strapped to the top of the car and sun bathed with a beer in my hand until we got there. Hehehehe, I am sure that would be a sight! We stayed in Springfield for 2 nights and Hot Springs for 3 nights. We did lots of sight seeing, shopping, swimming, relaxing, and eating. All what a vacation should be. Greg and I then had 2 days all to ourselves when we got home and we did yard work.....I know, it's vacation and we are working, but we both really do like to do that sort of stuff. While we were in Arkansas Greg became fascinated with all of the Magnolia trees, so, those of you who know Greg know that he has a fascination with trees. I let him talk me into buying this 6 foot Magnolia tree and we have to cart it back to Missouri.....that dang thing was hanging up around our heads and Reagan was trying to eat the leaves...see, another reason why I would have preferred to ride on the top of the car ;) Who buys a tree on vacation as a souvenier????? My husband!!

Week of May 25, 2008
This week has been crazy as usual. Allen had T-ball practice Tuesday evening (Reagan and I stayed home as it was really chilly for this time of year). Wednesday Allen had a T-ball game in Pilot Grove.....we actually played Blackwater.....I still don't quite understand that (Prairie Home playing Blackwater on Pilot Grove's field).....whatever works. This year's team is so much better than last year. I guess that extra age of most of the kids really makes a difference. When we got home I started packing for our vacation to Hot Springs, AR. Allen decided to go up in his room and play. I should have known right there that he was up to something. After quite a while of quitetness in his room he came walking up to me with this play sherrif badge stuck to his shirt. Now, I knew this badge was broke because he had been complaining about it a couple of days ago......the clip on the back was broke off. I was trying to figure out how he got this plastic thing to stick to his shirt. Well, come to find out, he had gotten out his scissors and cut a hole in his shirt and the badge was hanging on the hole. I could do nothing but laugh hystarically. I did eventually sit him down and explain to him that clothes cost a lot of money and he can't be cutting holes in his clothing. He understands now......I hope. Thursday night I spent the whole night packing for vacation.....it's rough packing for a family of 4. I'll catch back up here after vacation...............
